Why Be a CIT?
Adventure Camp’s CIT (Councilor in Training) program is a great way for campers to learn a sense of responsibility, improve their leadership skills and gain their first job experience! It’s also a valuable training program that shows older campers that they can positively contribute to the camp community and make their part of the world a better place.
Your CIT will serve with 3 adult staff in their group, as well as the CIT Coordinator. As part of the CIT program, CITs will participate in two focused meetings per week to reflect on the week’s activities, recognize teachable moments, and grow leadership and emotional skills. They also take part in games and team-building exercises both with campers and the CIT Coordinator. All transportation costs and entrance fees are provided and CITs make $2-$10 per day depending on age and number of years served as a CIT. CITs are given a stipend at the end of every two weeks worked.
