What Makes Adventure Camp Special?
Our philosophy is simple—every day should be an adventure.
• We make a splash with an exciting water adventure 2 days per week
• We take in the city’s kid-friendly shows and exhibits 1 day per week
Adventures are more fun with a positive attitude and an open mind. Our staff creates a supportive environment where kids can make friends and try new activities.
On our nature and water days, self-directed play is encouraged once we arrive at our destination.
This helps kids learn to build their own adventures and let their imaginations run free.
On our cultural excursion days, we split into small groups, and the Adventure Camp staff focuses on getting the kids to work as a team to explore together.
As much as D.C. has to offer, it’s hard to find summer camps that are affordable, educational, and fun. When I couldn’t find the right camp for my own kids, I was inspired to start a new summer camp. The first year, we had just 6 campers for a two-week summer session. Now over a decade later, Adventure Camp draws over 120 campers each week.
While we’ve brought more campers on board for the journey, we still focus on giving each kid individual attention to keep children engaged and safe on all of our adventures. We keep a strict 8-to-1 ratio of staff to campers.
